One might think that after the trials and tribulations the EU has endured over the past decade proponents of "The European Project," (the merging of 27 member states into a single political entity, a federal superstate, might have gone a little bit cool on the idea, but no; the Europhiles are still pudhing their grand schemes for "ever closer integration" on the unwilling populations of Europe. Almost immediately after German Finance Minister Olaf Scholz piblished his plan to complete the European Banking Union via the Financial Times, several reports claimed that Scholz had 'accidentally' neglected to keep Chancellor Merkel informed about the plan, in what was seen by some cynics as a move aimed at undermining The Chancellor's political authority as she struggles to hold together her fragine coalition to the end of of what's set to be her final term in office.

According to our sources, stunts like this one are becoming the norm in Berlim. Two weeks ago, Defense Minister Annegret Kamp-Karrenbauer (AKK) proposed a peace plan for Northern Syria without running it by the chancellor. AKK's efforts were ridiculed by the Social Democrats and Germany's Foreign Minister Heiko Maas, and the whole incident ended up embarrassing the government as it seeks to combat speculation that merkel has lost control and the rivals to be her successor are acting autonomously.

Both Scholz and AKK are strong contenders to vecome Chancellor when Hausfrau - Volksfuhrer Merkel steps down, but with the resurgent Alternative for Germany party boasting solid gains in recent elections, it's difficult to imagine how things might go in 2021 and neither AKK nor Scholz can rely on the support of the old CDU / SDP duopoly being enough to see them home.

Both Merkel's Christian Democrats and their coalition partners (including the SPD) have suffered in the polls as Merkel's coalition limps ineptly on, to weak to pass important legislation and as the mercy of minor parties. Fears of an early election have made it impossible for jubior coalition partners to take an initiative. After releasing his banking Union plan, Scholz met Merkel in the Chancellory in Berlin in what was described as a show of unity, Bloomberg reports. Such charades do nothing to inspire public confidence in the government and only encourage other EU member stated to push back against the Paris - Berlin axis that has dominated the EU for so long.

Much of the dysfunction in the German government seems to stem from internicine squabbling between the parties involved in Merkel's ruling coalition.. AKK was once believed to be Merkel's anointed successor, but a political disagreement has triggered hostility to her ambitions. As a result, her relationship with Merkel has become strained. Scholz, on the other hand, is trying to win a contest for the leadership of the SPD. His rivals have warned they could pull out of the governing coalition and trigger snap elections.

But instead of the buzz of rebellion filling the streets of berlin there is an air of apathy, Berlin feels rudderless, the same reporty in Bloomberg said. Merkel's power has waned, but none of the contenders look like adequate replacements.

Scholz's plan for finishing the European banking union framework received a chilly reception in the Bundestag, but he is standing by the plan, and insisted that Merkel's party will at least stand behind the principles for a deposit insurance scheme (the most controversial component of Scholz's plan) set out by Scholz's predecessor, Wolfgang Schaeuble.

The near collapse of the two centrist parties, Angela Merkel’s CDU and the Social Democrats (SPD), which for decades dominated German politics, looks like a omen of what lies ahead in German politics and EU politics.

A majority in Thuringia, ruled by the CDU since the early 1990’s until 2014 when Die Linke took over with the Social Democrats and the Greens, just voted against the centrist, Merkelist, grand coalition of standing for nothing but globalism and tighter EU integration.

Whereas in 2014, Die Linke formed a government with the SPD and the Greens, today they cannot, the grouping falls 4 seats short of a majority, and the Greens barely beat the 5% threshold for representation. Had they not the coalition calculus would be unsolvable.

Merkel and the CDU, though they beat old rivals the SDP by a big margin will exclude themselves from the state government as they ref as the Europhile leadership categorically refuse to make a deal with AfD in any capacity, the sticking point being Merkel's blinkered committent to her open doors immigration policy which has been the cause of so many of the country';s social and economic problems. It looks as if Turingia will be without an effective government for some time. The situation is just as bad in Brandenburg which voted in September and where the establishment has effectively blocked a coalition that contains the anti - EU Alternatif fur Deutschland.

This is becoming a trend in the EU where Spain, Belgium, Portugal and Italy are without effective governments because of undemocratic meddling in election results by Brussels.

In both German states, massive cartel-style coalitions will be needed, four parties, to cobble together a majority because all have refused to entreat with AfD. Lower Saxony will likely retain its current coalition between Merkel’s CDU, the SPD and the Greens after their election last month, although the demands oif the Greens as their proce for joining a coalition, environmentalist reforms that will be ruinous for the local economy, are likely to be unacceptable to CDU and SDP representatives. .

These, and other recent regional election results in Germany all highlight the direction the country's voters are moving, away from Brussels and Euro - Federalism and towards nationalism and a reclamation of national sovereignty. Voters are also repulsed by the mainstream party's making impossible promises to everyone and reneging on them in order to advance "the European project," by transforming the 27 member states into a federal republic, and against the Islamification of German society which is Merkel’s legacy. As Alexander Mercouris of The Duran pointed out the other day, Merkel’s modus operandi is to hold the line on the status quo regardless of the social mayhem her policies are creating around her.

That has created a a situation where an illusion of stability and control is projected on the surface on the surface while is teetering on collapse with every new social development or item of economic news.

Some commentators predicted the end of Merkelism but somehow Merkel survived at the head of a fragile and unconvincing coalition The problems she’s facing now were just as acute then. but she chose to paper them over with yet another disastrous coalition with the Social Democrats and CSU.

What’s clear is that political opinions about the future of Germany are hardening away from the consensus politics Merkel's Party and the SDP have been selling in fact the collapse of the SDP, once the default party of government is even more astounding than the decline of Merkel's CDU.

Well OK, but looking for something that cannot be captured, observed, measured or detected in any way, out there in the infinite universe (which is very very big as you will know if you read Hitch hikers; Guide To The Galaxy,) would be infinitely harder than trying to find a single drop of water in the ocean.

The amount of change in dark energy that Cerdonio calculated requires a specific kind of particle mass. This mass is approximately the same as that of a new kind of particle that's already been predicted - the axion. Yeah, right.

The theoretical particle, whose practice has never been detected, was conceived initially by physicists to help solve some problems with their quantum understanding of the strong nuclear force. Which is just a posh way of saying someone is making up this shit.

It is presumed the axion particle appeared in the very early universe, but has been "lurking" in the background. Well where else would it have been?

This is far from the first time Epstein's crimes have been covered up, minimized, or ignored.

Manhattan prosecutors were aware the state board had assigned Epstein a risk assessment of 130, a number that is “solidly above the 110 qualifying number for level three,” with “absolutely no basis for downward departure,” the brief notes.

The picture below is posted in memory of my lovely wife Teresa who passed away in the early hours of this morning after a long struggle with respiratory failure and kypho - scoliosis. The decline in her health became serious around eighteen months ago when, having been disabled since a brain haemorrhage left me paralyzed on my left side in 1997, from Teresa being my carer I was thrust into the being her carer, a role for which you may guess I am not well equipped.

Though Teri was only 74, in her case this was a remarkable story of survival, most kypho - scoliosis patients (it means a double curvature of the spine, both lateral and convex, and in later life puts pressure on the vital organs, particularly heart and lungs,) do not survive beyond their sixth decade in fact in a Swedish / Canadian study I found online of 630 cases studied only four people made it to their seventies.

That alone is a remarkable achievement for which I am proud of her. But in spite of those spinal problems, lifelong discomfort she endured without complaint, she managed to be a wonderful wife, efficient if rather scatty secretary to my business and a great mother to our two chilren. And you might notice that when younger she was a very attractive lady too.

Her unexpected death, while in a hospital acute care ward where she should have been monitored constantly, has triggered an investigation into the event, adding another level of stress to the actual bereavement. To put the seriousness of that into perspective, the investigation was launched not as a response to complaints by relatives but at the request of the senior doctor overseeing her case.
