USA Today recently ran an editorial under the headline, “Vaccine opt-outs put public health at risk (click link to read it)” and called for elimination of personal belief exemptions in state public health laws, including those that require children to get dozens of doses of up to 15 vaccines in order to attend daycare and school.
“When vaccination rates are very high, as they still are in the nation as a whole, everyone is protected. Diseases such as polio, smallpox and measles are wiped out,” the editorial claims.
“This ‘herd immunity’ protects the most vulnerable, including those who can’t be vaccinated for medical reasons, infants too young to get vaccinated and people on whom the vaccine doesn’t work.
But herd immunity works only when nearly the whole herd joins in. When some refuse vaccinations and seek a free ride, immunity breaks down and everyone is more vulnerable.”
What about this bizarre claim: "Not Sharing the Risks of Vaccination is selfish?"
The editorial goes on to claim that outbreaks of infectious diseases such as measles are due to the “selfish decisions” of a few, who take vaccine exemptions and place everyone else in the “herd” at risk.
The answer, the editorial board says, is to eliminate personal belief vaccine exemptions from state public health laws and presumably force all children and adults to get every government recommended vaccine. The article finishes off with the curious statement:
“Everyone enjoys the life-saving benefits vaccines provide, but they’ll exist only as long as everyone shares in the risks.” [Emphasis mine]
Curiously, because nowhere in the editorial did they actually address the issue of health risks associated with vaccines, which is one of the primary reasons for having personal choice in the first place. If safety and effectiveness of the product could be guaranteed, fewer people would have major objections.
What they don’t spell out clearly is that the risk of vaccine failure must be weighed in along with the potential risk of harm from the vaccine. That inconvenient truth is cleverly hidden amid inflammatory rhetoric designed to get people to rally against those pesky free-thinkers who have the audacity to do their own risk-benefit analysis.

Vaccine safety is not a major concern of mine, our children are grown up and they will fulfill their responsibilities to their families as they see fit. but I am concerned at the pressure I come under as a man over 60 years old to have an annual flu vaccine. I have never had true influenza in my life, I only visit the doctor for routing check ups which show my heart, lungs and immune system are in great shape; why am I suddenly so vulnerable to what is really quite a rare infection that I need an annual vaccination. And obviously if it needs to be refreshed annually, the vaccine is not much good. Yet I keep hearing the voices of experts (whose financial links to vaccine manufacturers are all too easy to trace) calling for laws compelling me to submit to vaccination.
That alone is enough to arouse suspicion but when we link it to calls for drugs such as SSRIs, Satins and Aspirin to be manadated by law when all are known to sometimes have devastating consequences when prescribed for people who do not need them, then the issue is clearly not public health but the corporate profits of the Big Pharma drug manufacturers.
While the USA Today editorial board admits that there are health risks associated with vaccines and vaccines don’t always work, they still insist that people should not be free to make their own choices when it comes to vaccination. Why? Apparently, their reasoning goes like this: the only way to have any hope of success in eradicating disease is by forcing everyone to blindly accept the known and potential unknown risks of vaccination. And since there are risks – even though the newspaper’s editors only acknowledge risk briefly in their OpEd – the only way they say mass vaccination policies are “fair” is by mandatorily distributing the risk across the entire population. Democracy is DeadToo many Americans love to boast that the United States is a democracy. That idea is accepted uncritically and celebrated as proof of this country’s superiority. Every public activity and event is an opportunity for the false narrative to be repeated and indulged. Events as disparate as elections, holiday celebrations, advertisements, school commencements and religious worship are all used to propagandize and create false belief about the degree of power the average citizen has vis a vis their government. Of course all evidence shows that this narrative is and always was a lie. Dictionaries define democracy as government representing the citizens through elected representatives, or as majority rule, or a society which provides equal rights to all. The history of this country has rarely lived up to any of those descriptions but in the recent past the notion that this country is a democracy has become openly farcical. We have nothing but meaningless trappings and any power exercised by the people is sadly in short supply. This state of affairs has been obvious to anyone who has been paying close attention. The US Government has already taken to jailing people for collecting in barrels rainwater that falls on the rooves of their home and outbuilding, for building ponds on their land to collect rainfall and for allowing farm animals to drink public property from streams and lakes. We did warn of what was on the way, everything the increasingly tyrannical administration of The Emperor Obama are doing in violation of the US Constitution and The Geneva Convention was detailed in the policy document released by the United Nations under the title Agenda 21 which promises the abolition of private property. It will be interesting to see how Obama plans to seek rstitution from the Sun, when our star's rays cause rainclouds, or government assets of surface water to evaporate, thus destroying valuable resources the government planned to license to corporate water merchants when the vapour had condensed enough to fall to earth. Inland Revenue Plan To Sell Private Data Is InsaneSource: The GuardianThe personal financial data of millions of taxpayers could be sold to private firms under laws being drawn up by HM Revenue & Customs in a move branded "dangerous" by tax professionals and "borderline insane" by a senior Conservative MP. Despite fears that it could jeopardise the principle of taxpayer confidentiality, the legislation would allow HMRC to release anonymised tax data to third parties including companies, researchers and public bodies where there is a public benefit. According to HMRC documents, officials are examining "charging options". The government insists that there will be suitable safeguards on personal data. But the plans, being overseen by the Treasury minister David Gauke, are likely to provoke serious worries among privacy campaigners and MPs in the wake of public concern about the government's Care.data scheme – a plan to share "anonymised" medical records with third parties. The Care.data initiative has now been suspended for six months over fears that people could be identified from the supposedly anonymous data, which turned out to contain postcodes, dates of birth, NHS numbers, ethnicity and gender. HMRC's chequered record on data is likely to come under scrutiny given historical scandals involving the loss of personal information about 25 million child benefit claimants and 15,000 bank customers. Now I had not applied for a payday loan, had not even given my email address when looking at the sites of short term loan providers, and most of my reasearch was done on websites highly critical of this type of lending, so how did the advertising servers know about me. That is one aspect of the loss of privacy we have already suffered that ought to jolt people out of their complacency. On top of that however, consider how many times you have heard politicians talk about using the web to "nudge" people into making better lifestyle choices. And then put that in perspective by recalling how for several decades we were "nudged" towards eating "healthy low fat spreads" instead of butter or lard, the saturated fats and which we were told furred up our arteries. And all the time it was the healthy options (which chemically are the nearest industry can get to producing aterial plaque) combined with highly refined sugar that furred up our arteries. Saturated fats, that our ancestors ate for a million years as they evolved from ignorant knuckle draggers to creatures who walked on the moon, when consumed in moderation as part of a mixed diet pose no increased risk of heart disease. The misrepresentation of health risks involved with diet are a fine example of why we cannot ever trust government or corporate propaganda, another is Genetically Modified foods. We have been assured time and again that all scientists agree they are perfectly safe for human consumption and pose no risk to the environment, with anybody who disagrees being branded a conspiracy theorist. It is not true however that "all scientists agree," just as it was never tue that "the science is settled" in respect of climate change. Not only is there a mountain of evidence that Genetically Modified Organism are a health risk, the main advantage claimed for them by scientists, that they give greatly increased crop yields, has been thrown into doubt (I'm being generous, it has been trashed). We just can't trust official information and enough people are aware of the extent that spin, deception and downright lies are used to manipulate opinion now that those in power are getting worried that their plans for a totalitarian global government (needed to save the planet from threats the power elite have invented) may be impossible to implement. So wholesale fear and panic propagation having failed to browbeat us into surrendering our individualism by wholesale surveillance and scaremongering, they (yes, the mysterious THEM, come on pedants - you know who I mean) are now looking to use the extended powers of intrusive surveillance technologies about to become commercially avalable will offer to personalise surveillance and use targeted scaremongering techniques to pick at our individual vulnerabilities. Resistance to this is simple but is also and individual thing, you must first understand that "The Wisom Of The Crowd" is just a creation of public relations officers, there is no wisdom in mindelessly following the mob. Ture wisdom lies in being brave enough to stand apart from the crowd, to use your own senses and jusdgement to decided what is right for you. The law can be applied to any GM strain that is adopted at EU level. The law follows a decree last month, which halted the planting of Monsanto’s insect-resistant maize MON810, which will be allowed for cultivation in the EU, Reuters reported. But if any strain of GM crop is adopted in the future at EU level – including Pioneer 1507, which was developed by DuPont and Dow Chemical – it will be subsequently banned in France. Pioneer 1507 could be approved by the EU later this year, after 19 of the 28 EU member states failed to gather enough votes to block it. The law adopted Tuesday by France’s lower house (National Assembly) is similar to one rejected by the upper house (Senate) in February, which was seen as unconstitutional. “It is essential today to renew a widely shared desire to maintain the French ban. This bill strengthens the decree passed last March by preventing the immediate cultivation of GMO and extending their reach to all transgenic maize varieties” Jean Marie Le Guen, the minister in charge of relations with parliament, told the National Assembly.
