Global Warming? Coldest Temperatures Ever on Earth’s Surface Observed
Researchers working in the Antarctic to study the effects of global warming this week released a report revealing “ultralow surface temperatures” in East Antarctica that surpass the coldest temperatures ever recorded on the earth’s surface.
The lowest measured air temperature on earth was previously recorded as -89.2 °C (-129 F) on 23 July 1983, observed at Vostok Station in Antarctica, but new data published in Geophysical Research Letters this week, has found that some 100 different locations on the East Antarctic Plateau reached temperatures of -98° C (-144° F) during the Antarctic polar night between 2004–2016.
The researchers believe these temperatures are close to the greatest levels of cold that can be reached on the earth's surface.
A team from the National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) at the University of Colorado Boulder have identified the East Antarctic Plateau — a massive, empty expanse the size of Australia that begins near the South Pole and is known as one of the dryest places on earth — as the coldest place on the planet.
The East Antarctic Plateau sits some 3,500 m (11,500 ft) above sea level and the air over the Plateau is extremely still, dry and thin, providing ideal conditions for extremes cold.
“In this area, we see periods of incredibly dry air, and this allows the heat from the snow surface to radiate into space more easily,” said Ted Scambos of the University of Colorado Boulder, lead author of the study.
East Antarctica is home to extremely low air and surface temperatures brought on by intense radiative cooling of the snow surface during prolonged wintertime periods of clear sky, weak winds, and very dry atmosphere, the report revealed. These findings tend to conform that water vapour rather than carbon dioxide is the essential greenhouse gas that makes the temperate zones suitable for supporting carbon based life forms and proects life on earth.
The researchers analyzed data from NASA’s Terra and Aqua satellites, as well as the NOAA’s Polar Operational Environmental Satellites, gathered during the Antarctic winters between 2004 and 2016, and found that snow surface temperatures regularly dipped below -90° C (-130° F) across the Plateau, with some 100 spots reaching a lowest temperature of -98° C (-144° F).

Italy hijacks to EU comference; new government WREAKS HAVOC at first major summit
A Senior EU official has confirmed Rome is behind the stalled talks in the Belgian capital after a press conference, featuring Jean-Claude Juncker, Donald Tusk and Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.
Express.co.uk has learned Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte has blocked all of the summit conclusions – not just those on migration, which has not even been discussed by leaders of the EU28.
The last time a European Council summit ended with no agreed conclusions was March 2017, which means leaders could be stuck in meetings until the early hours as they struggle to reach an agreement.
An EU diplomat said Rome is “putting a knife on the member states throat” over migration even before the subject is discussed by heads of state.
Italy’s populist government had previously threatened to veto the joint EU statement on migration as German Chancellor Angela Merkel fights to find a European-level solution to avoid a domestic crisis on the issue. The month-old government in Rome argued the words put on the paper were insufficient to address what could become a fresh migration crisis to replicate the summer of 2015.
‘Something wrong with the story’: Seymour Hersch questions media narrative on Salisbury poisoning
Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Seymour Hersch has questioned the UK government’s official line on the motives behind the Skripals’ poisoning, saying there is an “instinctive dislike” of Russia within the UK. Speaking to BBC Radio 4’s The Media Show, Hersch was responding to a question about whether journalists often bring their own “baggage or views” to stories before they’ve found out about what’s going on, and if this shaped how stories were reported.
He said there is “bias all the time” in the media, and that the UK is “riddled with bias” fueled by an “instinctive dislike” of Russia. There’s bias all the time, this country’s riddled with bias, there’s a great dislike of Russia here, an instinctive dislike,” he said.
“You saw that mess you had in March, the two Russians that were allegedly killed by nerve gas, which is essentially impossible,” he continued in reference to the poisoning of ex-Soviet double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in Salisbury three months ago.
“If you kill them, you kill half the city with nerve gas,” he added, before saying that interest in reporting on the story has dwindled away. “There’s something wrong with the story,” he added.
After several months in hospital, both Skripals were released from hospital after becoming seriously ill when coming into contact with the nerve agent Novichok. Little has been heard from the Skripals since their subsequent discharge from hospital. Although London and other Western nations were quick to point the finger at the Kremlin, no evidence has been provided that directly links Moscow to the attack.
Hersch, who shot to fame after exposing the cover up of the My Lai Massacre of civilians by US troops during the Vietnam War, has gone on to become one of the leading investigative reporters on national security issues, and a critic of US foreign and security policy.
When asked for his own take on who really was behind the Salisbury attack, Hersch said: “I’ve been told the real story had little to do with Russia per se, except that he was ratting out some of the Russian mobs.”

'He's as popular as a rattlesnake in a lucky dip' Fury as Blair orders Brexit POSTPONEMENTIn an incendiary speech, the former Labour prime minister claimed the UK could negotiate a new membership deal with a reformed EU that could address the concerns of Leave voters by tackling "the issue of immigration decisively". Blair, who was on the global banking cartel's payroll when whe was UK Prime Minister, is obviously labouring under the misapprehension that he is still a powerful figure in European politics, rather than a widely despised has been, has been intent on raising tensions in the Brexit debate by likening anti-globalisation political movements across Europe and the US to the rise of the Nazis and other extremists in the 1930s. In fact is is globalism that resembles Naziism, Hitler was often quoted as having said, "The Third Reich will rule the world for a thousand years." Blair's latest call for halting or delaying Britain's departure of the EU was firmly rejected by Downing Street last night. Theresa May's spokesman said: "The Prime Minister has been clear that we are leaving the EU and that will take place on March 29 2019. And Mr Blair's latest intervention in the debate about Britain's European future, on the eve of an EU Council summit in Brussels where Theresa May will discuss progress in the Brexit negotiations with the 27 other EU leaders, provoked a furious backlash from Leave-backing MPs.In an incendiary speech, the former Labour prime minister claimed the UK could negotiate a new membership deal with a reformed EU that could address the concerns of Leave voters by tackling "the issue of immigration decisively". His call for delaying Britain's departure of the EU was firmly rejected by Downing Street last night. The man is an idiot. Throughout the attempts to negotiate an exit deal that will benefit all parties, the EU negotiating style has been characterised by a refusal to concede ground on any point. In fact one Remain supporting MP said, "He's as popular as a rattlesnake in a lucky dip."

Algeria dumps thousands of migrants in the Sahara amid EU-funded crackdown
A truck loaded with migrants and their posessions crosses the Sahara. The wide angle lens used conveyes an impression of how emply and lifeless this place is.
Not far from the Algerian border, the infant gave up its fight for life under the punishing Saharan sun. “The mother, she is a friend of mine. Her baby passed away in the desert,” said Thomas Howard, a painter and decorator from the west African state of Liberia.
Mr Howard and his friend had migrated north to Algeria looking for work but were rounded up, beaten and robbed by Algerian security forces before being put in a truck, driven back south and dumped in the desert. They were told to start walking south through the dunes as their captors drove away.
Since September 2017, Algeria has left more than 10,000 people at its southern border, to trek for hours without food or water towards scattered border towns in neighbouring Niger.
North African countries are cracking down on immigration in a bid to stem the flow of sub-Saharan migrants reaching the Mediterranean, and ultimately Europe, and they have received financial backing from Britain and the EU.
A people smuggler in Agadez, Niger. He takes money for transporting migrants across the Sahara and into Algeria with the promise of a passage to Europe, then dumps them in the desert. Credit: Xaume Olleros (AFP)
As the numbers crossing the Mediterranean fell from 215,997 in the first six months of 2016 to just 40,944 in the same period this year, the amount left adrift in the Sahara by Algeria has jumped.
In May last year, 135 people were left to fend for themselves in the desert between Algeria and Niger alone - according to the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) - but this stood at 2,888 in April this year - a 20-fold increase.
The expulsions happen both during the day, when temperatures can hit 110F (43C), and at night, when migrants fumble blindly in the dunes, looking for shelter and safety.
Dozens - perhaps hundreds - are dying of dehydration and heatstroke in the dunes. And yet the virtue signalling lefties deny all this and say it is just a right wing conspiracy to stop migrants coming to Europe. Really these politicammy correct idiots are as much to blame for the crisis as the inept politicians who let it happen and the organised crime networks who exploit poor and desperate people.RELATED POSTS:

Italy stuns EU as Conte reveals shock migrant plan.
With Angela Merkel's political future at stake as a special EU summit to discuss the immigration crisis, and almost half of all member states having rejected a Franco - German plan to resolve the problems caused by mass immigration with even higher levels of mass immigration, the recently inaugurated Italian government made a bold bid to become leader of the Eurosceptic states which reject federalism and greater surrender of national sovereignty to Brussels bureaucrats by presenting their own plan for dealing with unwelcome migrants.
The newly-appointed Italian leader revealed his country had presented 15 leaders attending the European Union migration summit in Brussels with the new proposals.
Giuseppe Conte told the press: "We are here to present the Italian proposal for a new migration policy.
"A completely new Italian proposal based on the new resolution paradigm to solve the migration issue. It’s called the European Multi-Level Strategy for Migration, articulated on six premises and ten objectives.
"It’s aimed at proposing a timely regulation and management policy to control migration flows that is truly effective and sustainable."
The new proposal demands EU member states accept their share of economic migrants entering the bloc through Italian shores or face a reduction of EU money. There is an element of sarcasm in the proposal as Germany and France have previously, while making a lot of noise about their politically correct 'open doors' immigration policies, been happy to let southern European members Italy, Greece and Malta deal with the influx of uneducated, illiterate, hormonally incontinent young males from Africa. The document includes 10 points that Rome suggested would help manage the influx of migrants coming to the European Union putting a strain on welcoming countries such as Italy.
According to the current policy, countries welcoming refugees and migrants in the first place are charged with handling asylum requests. The new Italian plans impose joint responsibility on EU members to address the migrant crisis, suggesting that failure to work together would put the Schengen Area at risk.
Mr Conte continued: "It’s a proposal aimed at completely surpassing the Dublin Agreement (which dumps responsibility for refugees on the first safe nation they reach). "We believe that agreement is based on emergency logistics but we want to tackle the issue structurally. Our public opinion demands it."RELATED POSTS:
Currency war can end global US dollar dominance & those who own gold have power
The world is facing a currency war and the only hedge against the crash of the US dollar is real gold, a precious metal analyst has said in an interview with RT. With geopolitical power shifting from West to East, US dominance may be ending. "But isn't this just one person's opinion?" you might well ask.
In this particular instance it is, but this page has spent enough time over the past few years reporting on the coming currency war, the move by China, Russia and a group of emerging economic powers including India and Brazil, to abandon the US$ as the reserve currency for international trades to convince even the most gung ho American patriots that something is going on that cannot have a good outcome for their country.
A significant sign that the USA is no longer regarded as the ultimate safe haven is the recent rush tp repatriate physical gold from the United States. In the past twleve months nations including Germany, Turkey, France, The Netherlands, South Korea and Japan have been taking their bullion home. The reason is the Cold War is over and despite the Russiagate scaremongering of neocons and the military - industrial complex, countries don’t see Russia as a threat anymore, says Claudio Grass, an independent precious metals advisor and Mises Ambassador.
The world has been living in crisis since 2008, while a currency war started even earlier, Grass said to RT. Central banks have been creating trillions of dollars out of thin air by issuing bonds, while central banks are coordinating the debasing of currencies, he said.
None of the money printing panic measures implemented since 2008 have made a significant difference, and with sovereign debt still growing it is obvious that the systemic problems still exist. The longer economies remain reliant on debt the greater the risks become and the more fragile the global economy is. More than 65 percent of all monetary reserves in the central banking system are held in the world currency reserve, i.e. in USDollar denominated treasury bonds. Therefore, holding physical gold is definitely the best hedge against a crash of any paper currency, and therefore also against a crash of the USD.
The global economy has become boged down in a “Monopoly-Game” system or a legalised Ponzi scheme that is based on debt and financial leverage.

Irish PM Meets HRC, Insists Europe Needs More Migrants to ‘Enrich Societies’
Europe needs more mass migration from the Global South because it “enriches our cultures and societies”, according to Leo Varadkar, who announced he will import more asylum seekers to Ireland after meeting Hillary Clinton.
Speaking days after a meeting with senior EU figures in Dublin, the globalist taoiseach (prime minister) committed to resettling a greater number of illegal immigrants stuck in Greece and Italy in Ireland than the batch of 4,000 already agreed.
According to the Irish Independent, he said the gesture is about “solidarity and burden-sharing”, and as a way of repaying the support the European Commission has given Ireland over Brexit negotiations.
“We are in favour of the European Commission proposals to ensure that all countries share in taking refugees and we’re willing to do that.
Officials from 27 European countries including the UK, and 28 African nations, met in Morocco on the 2nd of My 2018, and signed the Marrakesh political declaration. Only Hungary refused. In essence it mounts to a plan for mass African migration into Europe and aims to promote mass migration of young men and women into Europe from North, West and central Africa, it also commits nations to promoting the integration of refugees and displaced persons into host communities.
The reason given for this mass migration is that Europe has a low birth rate , but they omit to say it was their constant reminder that their citizens had to cut down on their birth rate for fear of over populating their country. They estimate that at least 200 million Africans are needed over this next 50 years. If these traitors are not stopped they will destroy Europe and all the hard work that is has taken our ancestors to build it will all have been for nothing , and the millions of young men who died for freedom will have all being in vain. What kind of life will our children and grandchildren have in this evil New World Order under which such massively disrupting social engineering projects can be agree without reference to voters , is totally terrifying.
What an effing insult to white people everywhere.
European culture, which has produced great works of art, music, theatre and architecture and has solved many of the problems faced by us over centuries so how do third world peasants enrich us?
A culture that rounded up millions of its own brothers and sisters and forced marched them thousands of miles to the coast and sold them into slavery for trinkets, booze and beads?
A culture that hasn't progressed socially or economically in thousands of years?
They enrich US?
Europe was richer before the ruling elites went off on this globalist acid trip and imported third world savages started to arrive. The only lives enriched by their presence have been theirs because compared to the lifstyles they had back home, they can live like kings on the handouts of taxpayers money our elitist governments give them.
They have added nothing, except, violence, division and grief.MORE >>>

Lord’ Sugar Sugar called ‘racist’ for Senegal World Cup team tweet (but it was funny)Alan Sugar (one of Blair's dodgy 'lords' and front man of the UK version of ‘The Apprentice’ TV show, has come in for a shitstorm of criticism online after tweeting a typical market traders gag about the Senegal World Cup team. Sugar posted a photoshopped image of the Senegal players standing over a row fake designer sunglasses and handbags and gave it the caption “I recognise some of these guys from the beach in Marbella. Multi-tasking resourceful chaps.” The line is a reference to immigrant street-traders who harass tourists with highly aggressive sales pitches around Marbella and other resort towns on southern Spain’s Costa del Sol.

Day Of Destiny For Merkel? End Of European Dream Near?German chancellor Merkel and Interior Secretary Seehofer - lovely body language (Source: https://img.ziet.de/politik/deutschland )
German media is somewhat dramatically perhaps (this is Germany we're dealing with after all,) predicting Monday will be the ‘day of destiny’ for Angela Merkel when the the Chancellor will be issued an ultimatum over, either suport Germany or support Islamification. The coalition between the Merkel-led Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and its conservative Bavarian allies is in crisis over the four - term Chancellor’s insistence that Germany’s borders stay open to all comers. Fed up of being forced by the federal government to pander to Muslim militants by removing any references to Christianity in public buildings because 'these might offend Muslims,' the Bravarian provincial government recently ordered that a Christian cross be displayed in every school classroom.
Germans have previously been urged to comply with requests from Muslims to remove pork and pork products from supermarkets and shops, to stop walking dogs in public spaces, and to desist from playing music outdoors as all these things are offensive to Islam. German women have also been told they should not complain when raped by Muslims because the way European women dress identifies them as whores in they eyes of Muslim men. The left wing idiots who screech about multiculturalism and diversity conveniently forget that even prostitutes in the west are protected by law and if they do not consent to sex it is rape.
The current dispute centres on one of the sacred cows of EU federalists, free movement. While the free movement rules apply to EU citizens being able to move freely within member states, in recent years globalist leaders, with Merkel to the fore, have reinterpreted this to allow non EU citizens, including those who have entered Europe illegally without even a passport or national ID card to establish who they are or where they are from to enter the Union and move around at will.
Christian Social Union (CSU) leader and interior minister Horst Seehofer, a vocal critic of Merkel’s immigration policy, has warned he will give Merkel two weeks to arrange a deal with other EU leaders over migrants who have already applied for asylum elsewhere, or else shut the borders to newcomers who have previously registered in other European nations.
Merkel, who has led Germany since 2005, has rejected the proposal, claiming that turning aliens away at the border would within the bloc. The so called EU values
Both party leaders are expected to issue statements on Monday afternoon after CSU and CDU officials hold separate talks in Berlin and Munich, to which Merkel was not invited. CSU secretary general Markus Blume told reporters that Seehofer’s ‘migration masterplan’ had the party’s total backing.
Publication of the masterplan has been postponed to allow for negotiations, but local media reports suggest the interior minister’s plan has the potential to further damage relations between the coalition partners because ir contains anti-mass migration proposals such as slashing asylum seekers’ cash payments and replacing them almost entirely with benefits in kind.
The sooner Merkel and those infected with the same globalist virus is gone the sooner we can get on with saving Europe.

TV Debate Exposes Bullying Attitude To Brexit Naegotiations
A discussion of the progress in Brexit negotiations descended into a bad tempered shouting match on British television last night, but brought to the fore questions over the EU’s aggressive negotiating tactics and unwillingness to to treat negotiations as being between equals. The EU's approach throughout the process has been to reject all British proposals without consideration and respons to every concession the UK has made by demanding more.
Former Cabinet Minister and Conservative MP Michael Portillo criticized the Proposals for the UK to remain in the EU single market and customs union have drawn heavy cross-party criticism from Brexiteers, with many insisting that it’s not what Britons voted for in the 2016 referendum. European Union’s (EU) “bullying culture” during a debate on the BBC’s This Week show, in which he locked horns with left wing Philosopher and European federalisation fanatic AC Grayling.
“I was in this studio before the referendum, and I kept saying ‘you see if the referendum goes the way the establishment doesn’t want it they [ the EU and its supporters in Britain] will soon be back saying there ought to be another referendum, which they have done to every other European country in which a referendum did not go the way Brussels wanted'. It’s part of the bullying culture of the European Union,” he is quoted as saying by The Express.
“If people defy what the establishment wants to do, they have to be bullied, they have to be punished, they have to be threatened.” Portillo stormed in response to Grayling's claims that British negotiators had been intransigent.
The former MP also rejected the idea of a second referendum, insisting that Brits had already voted on the matter and another referendum would be unnecessary. Furthermore, Mr. Portillo claimed that “this bullying and paternalism” is one of the reasons why the EU failed to retain Britain as a member state.
EU-UK talks to negotiate the terms of the UK’s withdrawal from the trading bloc have resulted in some progress, with an encouraging draft deal agreed earlier this year, but later this was rejected by the EU which demanded further concessions.
Proposals for the UK to remain in the EU single market and customs union have drawn heavy criticism from Brexit supporters in all parties, with many insisting that it’s not what Britons voted for in the 2016 referendum.
However, negotiators have struggled to find common ground on Britain’s post-Brexit trading relationship with the EU and the matter of the Irish border.
Cervical Cancer Tests For Men? Western Civilzation Has Gone Insane
A campaign launched in the UK this week (Cervical Cancer Awareness Week) has employed a positively Orwellian abuse of language to encourage men at risk of cervical cancer to present themselves for smear tests that detect the disease in its early stages.
"But Basil, isn't a cervix something women have but men don't have?" you might well ask.
That was certainly the case when I was studiously avoiding the study of biology at school, but apparently due to the wonders of politically correct doublespeak modern medicine it no longer applies. Now men can have a cervix and have babies too. It's not just a case of men having the right to have a babies as in this scene from Monty Python's Life Of Brian, but the people who we have been foolish enough to vote into power say we must, by law, accept as fully functioning males people who can push infants they themselves have grown from seed, down the birth canal and into the world.
Ex - females who have undergone surgery (the procedure is called a 'strappadictomy' I believe,) may now have a willie and also a cervix. In fact some retain their entire reproductive system so that, as men they can have babies. And if you don't think that is insane you are raving bonkers.
Germany’s Green Nightmare. Sustainable Energy Flails, Fossil Fuels Boom…
Greman Greenpeace wankers rally to demand cold houses, raw food, mass unemployment and lives without TV or electric light
Germany, not so long ago at the politically correct centre of the world, championing the cause of free immigration and the move to clean, green, sustainable energy (two policies guaranteed to leadt to the desruction of European civilisation, is suffering a crisis of arrogance as German society descends into chaos due to the actions lawless elements among the million or so uneducated, unskilled, uncivilised immigrants waved through border posts without any for of vetting, while the green dream of meeting all the nations energy needs with the medieval technology that is the basis of windmill design appears to be flat on its back with its legs in the air.
German energy minister Minister Peter Altmaier, has admitted for the first time the nation will fall some way short of its 2020 climate targets and that voters have completely lost faith in the renewable energy project which in Germany costs taxpayers around €25 billion per year in subsidies because despite accurate but misleading claims that energy from wind ans sunshine are free, collecting it and transforming it into usable forms is not.
Voters across Europe have lost faith in politics partly because of “unachievable targets” on renewable energy, said German Energy Minister Peter Altmaier, who rejected calls from a group of other EU countries to boost the share of renewables to 33-35% of the bloc’s energy mix by 2030. […]Meanwhile, France24 reports:
“Germany supports responsible but achievable targets,” Altmaier said from the outset, underlining Berlin’s efforts to raise the share of renewables to 15% of the country’s overall energy mix.
But he said those efforts also carried a cost for the German taxpayer, which he put at €25 billion per year. “And if we are setting targets that are definitely above 30%, that means that within a decade, our share has to be more than doubled – clearly more than doubled,” Altmaier pointed out.
Rather than cutting emissions of the greenhouse gas by 40 percent compared with 1990 levels, Europe’s largest economy will manage reductions of just 32 percent, said the annual climate report for 2017 signed off by Chancellor Angela Merkel’s cabinet. With even that reduced target looking increasingly unrealistic, these are shocking admissions from the country which has probably done more than any other to advocate for “clean energy”. Germany had set itself the ambitious target of becoming completely independent of fossil fuels in a scheme known as Energiewende.
The shortfall of eight percentage points translates into around 100 million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) pumped into the air annually.
Last year, the German Federal Department of Economics and Energy published a brochure claiming Energiewende had been a huge success story. But this was a lie according to this German research document, published in English under the name Compendium for a Sensible Energy Policy.
The Energiewende has the goal of making Germany independent of fossil fuels in the long term. Coal, oil and gas were to be phased out, allowing drastic reductions in carbon dioxide emissions. However, these goals have not even begun to be achieved. This news is the latest in a series of public relations disasters for the renewables industry. It follows a crash in the price of solar energy (after China decided to cut subsidies) and the failure of Britain’s wind turbines to produce energy for over a week.
The Energiewende was only driven forward in the electricity sector, which, accounts for only one-fifth of energy consumption. There were hardly any successes in the heating/cooling and transport sectors. And so carbon dioxide emissions in Germany have been rising since 2009, even though well over a hundred billion euros have been spent on the expansion of solar and wind energy over the same period.
The financial obligations undertaken in the process will continue to burden taxpayers for another two decades and will end up costing German consumers a total sum of around 550 billion euros. Despite this enormous effort, security of supply is increasingly under threat.
At the same time, people and the biosphere are suffering; wildlife protection has become subordinated to climate mitigation, even though the possibility of achieving the goals of reducing carbon dioxide emissions is becoming increasingly distant and the measures for the energy transition seem to become more and more questionable from a constitutional point of view.
Meanwhile, fossil fuels – especially the most hated one of all, coal – are experiencing an unlikely boom.
According to the Financial Times:
Thermal coal, tagged the least-loved major commodity by analysts, is defying sceptics, with prices rising to the highest level since 2012 thanks to strong Asian demand.
High-grade Australian thermal coal, the benchmark for the vast Asia market, was quoted at $112.60 a tonne on Monday by Argus Media.
The fuel, which is burnt in power stations to generate electricity, has now jumped 130 per cent from its 2016 lows, boosting the profits of big producers such as Glencore and Peabody. The price of South African thermal coal has also hit a six-year high as consumers in Asia scramble for supplies.
While thermal coal is being phased out in Europe on environmental grounds, it still accounts for about 40 per cent of energy consumption in emerging markets, especially Asia.
Demand from India, Japan and South Korea has been robust in the first five months of the year, while an early summer heatwave has lifted imports into China despite Beijing’s efforts to keep a lid on domestic coal prices.
So let's just get this straight; thanks to the efforts of the science wankers who could not work out that when the wind does not blow wind turbines cannot generate and when the sun does not shine (on average 12 hours a day even in the sunniest regions of the globe,) solar panels cannot collect energy and feed it into the grid, we have spent $£€trillions on switching to clean, green, sustainable electricity only to find the science wankers and politicians (all politicians are wankers) have not yet learned what only with a grain of common sense knew from the outset.
And as a result of this outbreak of wankerism in the corridors of power and the halls of academia, we are now shipping coal halfway round the world from Australia to keep the lights lit, the heaters heating, the cookers cooking and the wheels of industry turning in western Europe.

Bestselling Author Fired for Mocking Publisher’s Diversity PolicyBy James Delingpole
Publishing giant Penguin Random House has announced that its authors are no longer to be chosen on literary merit but according to a politically correct quota system “taking into account ethnicity, gender, sexuality, social mobility and disability”.
This is mad, stupid, and insulting. But not nearly as mad, stupid, and insulting as the decision by the Mslexia Short Story Prize, a literary competition for women authors, to sack one of its judges Lionel Shriver as a punishment for daring to criticise the new policy.
Shriver (who, despite her misleading first name, is a woman) is the American-born, UK-resident novelist best known for her bestseller
We Need To Talk About Kevin. She also has a column in the Spectator which this week she used to mock Penguin Random House’s new diversity policy.
I’d been suffering under the misguided illusion that the purpose of mainstream publishers like Penguin Random House was to sell and promote fine writing. A colleague’s forwarded email has set me straight. Sent to a literary agent, presumably this letter was also fired off to the agents of the entire Penguin Random House stable. The email cites the publisher’s ‘new company-wide goal’: for ‘both our new hires and the authors we acquire to reflect UK society by 2025.’ (Gotta love that shouty boldface.) ‘This means we want our authors and new colleagues to reflect the UK population taking into account ethnicity, gender, sexuality, social mobility and disability.’ The email proudly proclaims that the company has removed ‘the need for a university degree from nearly all our jobs’ — which, if my manuscript were being copy-edited and proof-read by folks whose university-educated predecessors already exhibited horrifyingly weak grammar and punctuation, I would find alarming.
Then she really gets going:

Another Setback For Macron As French National Assembly Rejects Immigrant Boats
Another setback for Macron came as he intensified his lobbying to push the EU more rapidly towards financial and political integration. Always a supporter of the insance open doors immigration policy, Macron, who is on record as having said Europe cannot survive without a continuous influx of illiterate peasants from Africa and Asia had to watch as French national assembly members voted to back the Eurosceptoc Italian government's decision to close its ports to ships carrying illegal immigrants rescued from the waters of the Mediterranean after being dumped at sea by criminals who run the people trafficking rackets.
French conservative lawmaker Eric Ciotti said no French port should take in the Aquarius, the humanitarian ship stranded in international waters in the Mediterranean since Saturday.
“No French port – not Corsica, not Nice, not Marseille [should take in the Aquarius],” Mr Ciotti told the French television channel CNews, adding that the migrant ship should “head back towards the Libyan coast”.
“Do we want Nice to become the next Lampedusa?” he said, referring to the Italian island which has become a popular landing point for migrants. “I hope France will hold firm on this issue”.
Italy and Malta have both refused to let the rescue ship, whose passengers include 11 children and seven pregnant women rescued off the coast of Libya by the French charity SOS Mediterranée on the weekend, to dock, prompting the European Union and the UN’s refugee agency to call for an end to the standoff.
On Monday, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, a socialist who took power less than two weeks ago, said that the ship could dock in the eastern port of Valencia, where it is currently headed.
So while the little grandmotherfucker Macron is strutting around pretending to be a world leader, the future is looking bleak for France just a year into his presidency.RELATED POSTS:

As G8,7,6 declines Putin and Xi build alternative global economy
While Germany' Merkel and France's Macron lecture the world on politically correct globalism and President Trump turns his back on Obamaesque arse kissing and lectures former foreign partners of the US on common sense, ahead of a G-7 (or rather, G-6+1 and soon to be 5 + 2 as Italy's Eurosceptic government sides with Trump,) summit in Quebec, exposing the very real fragmentation of the western liberal consensus continues.
If the US, isolated by the other, quits G7 (as Trump, based on his track record, well might,) that will leave Germany, Japan, UK, France, Italy and Canada. All of these have their own problems which eventually must override the airy - fairy ideas of academics about global approaches to problems. Global approaches may justify lost of expensive jollies for politicians and academics and look great on paper but seldom have any effect on local problems.
Trump's controversial imposition of import tariffs signals a US crackdown on unfair foreign trade practices, such as dumping cheap, shoddy goods from low labour cost areas in western markets at prices with which domestic manufacturers cannot hope to compete. Meanwhile, almost unreported by mainstream media (link goes to Bloomberg, I picked it up from a financial services news feed that I should not be accessing without a subscription, but hey, 'fair use') an important meeting between China's leader Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin is of far greater significance than the posturings of the G6 minnows, as, like bad tempered lap dogs, they yap at Trump.
Putin and Xi held their first meeting this year on Thursday ahead of the June 9 Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting - an eight-member group led by China and Russia - which will be held in the port city of Qingdao. The two governments are in constant touch however. China and Russia are of course leading the move to replace the Petrodollar as the global reserve currency and are playing an increasingly pivotal role in international crises such as Syria and the South China Sea.
Medical Student Stabs Lover - career hopes ruined?
Oxford University medical student Lavinia Woodward attacked her then partner after drinking at her university accommodation at Christ Church college in 2016.
The 25-year-old was given a 10-month prison term suspended for 18 months at Oxford Crown Court in September last year after admitting unlawful wounding, but challenged her sentence at the Court of Appeal on Friday.
Judges rejected her appeal, prompting her lawyer to tell the court Woodward has accepted she will never fulfill her ambition of becoming a heart surgeon.
That's a bit harsh I think, if she wanted to be a heart surgeon, stabbing her lover could be considered work experience.READ MORE >>>

Europe To Fine Google Up To 8bn Euros ($11BN) Over Abuse Of Market Dominance
It's been less than two weeks since the European Union's new GDRP data privacy rules took effect (forcing some US news sites to block European consumers outright) and already Brussels is preparing its next attack on US technology companies. According to the Financial Times, EU Competition Commissioner Margarethe Vestager, who has become possibly the most hated woman in Silicon Valley for her crusade against US tech firms, is preparing to penalize Google for "abusing its market dominance" through its Android operating system.
It won't be Google's first wire transfer to Brussles: the company has already been fined 2.4 billion euros by Vestager for "abusing its dominance in search". That case involved apparent abuses in Google's comparison-shopping service.READ ALL >>>

Merkel's Call For Brussels Takeover of EU Nations’ External Border Controls Opposed
Merkel and The Migrants - today, tomorrow - Image source: lesobservateurs.ch
The Czech Republic has rejected Angela Merkel’s call for external border protection to be denationalised and handed over to a Brussels-directed EU agency, stating that Europeans do not want mass migration from the third world.
Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš was responding to comments the German Chancellor made in an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung (FAS) at the weekend when she called for Frontex become a border police force that would take over the role from national governments. The move will be seen by Eurosceptics as a sly attempt by Merkel to salvage her 'open doors' immigration policy, as the EU bureaucracy has always wanted to admit any outsiders turning up at member states' borders with the outside world
Merkel’s assertion that a common European immigration policy should be “flexible” — allowing nations which refuse to resettle immigrants to show so-called solidarity in other ways — has been presented as seeking compromise with governments in Eastern and Central Europe which are at loggerheads with Brussels over attempts to force third world migrants on unwilling states by imposing quotas. Some members say these are an affront to national sovereignty.
However, laying out her vision for EU reform, Merkel said nations would need to give Brussels total control of their border security and migration systems, telling the German newspaper that, “we need a common European refugee agency, which carries out all asylum procedures at the external borders, on the basis of a uniform European asylum law” in addition to opening legal channels for mass immigration from Africa.“This means that the European border police must have the right to act independently at the external borders,” she insisted.
In other words she thinks she has found a way to force immigrants on Hungary, Poland, the Czech republic and others.
Asked about Merkel’s remarks, Babiš told reporters: “The idea that Frontex will guard everything by itself is not realistic in the long term. Individual states must guard that.”
European voters are more aligned with the Visegrád nations’ tough stance on migration policy, the Czech leader argued, pointing to elections over the weekend in Slovenia where an anti-mass migration opposition party emerged victorious, and Italy’s recent vote for a populist, Eurosceptic government.
“So this opinion on migration will prevail in the whole of Europe, and we have to stop migration outside the European continent and help the people in Africa and Syria,” Reuters reported him saying.RELATED POSTS:

London Evening standard Sells Favourable Coverage to Evil Corporations
London’s Evening Standard paper, edited by former Conservative Chancellor George Osborne, agreed a multi-million pound deal with six 'blue chip' firms - including Google and Uber - to provide them with extremely positive news coverage, according to an openDemocracy investigation.
George Osborne, Evening standard Editor reacts to being asked what his paper is doing to weed out fake news
The project, 'London 2020', is being directed by Osborne personally, and represents a historic corruption of the 'Chinese wall' that should theoretically exist between a paper's editorial and commercial departments.
Paying clients will receive "numerous news stories, comment pieces and high-profile backers" in the Evening Standard, with concerted campaigns conducted in tandem with the firms' own planned communications and marketing strategies. The Standard told the firms involved other media outlets would also likely pick up the "favourable" paid-for stories too.
If the strategy goes ahead as planned June 5, readers of the Evening Standard — the UK's fifth-largest newspaper by circulation, at almost 900,000 — will be unaware whether a story they read is in fact "favorable" reporting, paid for by a major international company, in other words FAKE NEWS.
The openDemocracy investigation documents how a group of leading companies were given a detailed sales presentation by Evening Standard executives at the paper's Kensignton offices.
Those who eventually signed up for the deal — paying US$670,000 (£500,000) for the privilege — included Google, which has been under fire worldwide for its tax avoidance activities for some time. In March 2018, it was announced the company would pay UK corporation tax of US$67 million (£50 million), its highest ever — despite UK sales totalling US$7.63 billion (£5.7 billion).
During Osborne's time as Chancellor under Prime Minister David Cameron (May 2010 — June 2016), critics frequently accused Downing Street of having overly cozy relations with Google, and being too lenient on the tech giant's tax affairs.
The decision also comes a mere three years after Google launched the Digital News Innovation Fund (DNI), which has the stated aim of "[combating] misinformation and disinformation" and "[helping] consumers distinguish fact from fiction online," or in plain English, to suppress the publication of news Google and their political allies do not like.
Controversial 'ride-sharing' app Uber is also said to have signed up for 'London 2020'. The company is currently preparing to appeal against Transport for London's decision in September 2017 to cancel its licence to operate in London, after concluding the company was not "fit and proper" to operate in the capital.
In particular, officials were extremely concerned by the firm's approach to reporting serious criminal offences, and use of Greyball, software capable of blocking regulatory bodies from gaining full access to the app and preventing officials undertaking regulatory or law enforcement duties. London taxis block the roads in central London, Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016. Drivers are concerned with unfair competition from services such as Uber.

Ed Snowden warned of 'databases of ruin': Big Tech surpasses Big Brother in surveillance debatesource The Daily Telegraph
A few months after Edward Snowden emerged from the shadows of America’s espionage world to shine a light on the murky business of mass surveillance, the NSA contractor said he never set out to upend the system.
“I wanted to give society a chance to determine if it should change itself,” the former intelligence agent said in Russia, where he has been living since leaking thousands of classified documents in the summer of 2013.
Five years on, it seems society no longer fears Big Brother so much as Big Tech.
While his revelations were met with outrage, the debate about our privacy being breached has arguably been overtaken by the revelations that 87 million Facebook users might have had their data shared with Cambridge Analytica.
It’s a “fair” point, agreed Ben Wizner, Snowden’s lawyer in the US.
“The gap between how people think they’re using Facebook and how Facebook is using them is immense,” he said in an interview with The Telegraph.
“We’ve allowed these companies to assembles vast dangerous databases - some people call them ‘databases of ruin’ - where if they get into the wrong hands, they can be used for real harm.”
Mr Wizner, a civil liberties attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), said fixing the problem would require structurally reducing the power of these corporations. However, he said the solution was more likely to come from Brussels than the US government. This is a rather alarming view as at the time of writing Brussels is planning a project to place software filters on ftp servers so governments and supranational bureaucracies like the European Union can control what is uploaded to the internet and thus what information and opinions we can see.
“The major internet companies spend more money lobbying Congress than do the oil companies now so I don’t think it’s realistic to look to US congress to lead the way on regulating Big Tech,” he said.
Mr Wizner said comparisons could be made between the intelligence community and Silicon Valley, claiming the mantra of both had been “trust us”. While the former said “trust us we’ll keep you safe”, the technology firms said “trust us, we’re building a better world," when in reality what they call disruptive technologies are in fact destructive technologies ained at destroying certain industries that are by nature the domain of small businesses, thus extending corporate control. While the tech companies glibly promise their innovations have great benefits for us as individuals and communities, in fact by destoying the hearts of ous communities they threaten our individualism.

Brexit: EU do NOT want to negotiate with UK! says Barnier'
MICHEL Barnier launched an astonishing attack on the UK's Brexit team declaring that the European Union does "not want to negotiate" with Britain any further. Thus may be the kind of crude bullying the EU is fond of in its negotiations with member states but it could spell the end Theresa May's hopes for a 'soft Brexit' deal.
Mr Barnier insisted all issues surrounding Brexit negotiations had been solely caused by the UK and "no one else". The slimy little capaud is lying of course, May's eagerness to conclude a deal has resulted in Brussels increaasing its demands every time she conceded a point. The EU Brexit chief negotiator was keen to blame out at Mrs May for failing to set a "clear position" for Britain's future relationship with the bloc even though she has set out several perfectly reasonable positions, all of which have been rejected instantly by the EU.
Barnier told Vice News: "It is the decision of the British to leave the union that has created the problem. No one else. Nothing else. What is sometimes hard for the British to understand is that we don't want to negotiate, we don't want to compromise on who we are. They want to leave, it is their choice to leave."
In an astonishing rant, he added: "It's not only about negotiating between officials in Brussels or London, it's about the people, about the business, about the stakeholders.
"So I think that this negotiation cannot be secret."
Mr Barnier questioned UK's relationship with the EU post-Brexit, saying he had "no certainty" about their future relations.
"We're waiting for the British to have clear positions and choices.
"This is their decision to leave, which creates the issue."
Mr Barnier dismissed all UK's Brexit proposals as "unacceptable", declaring that Mrs May's plans for a customs arrangement with the EU - a customs partnership or Max Fac alternative - was not possible, even though the situation already exists between the EU and several states with which it has borders.
During a meeting with members of the EU's Brexit steeering group, Barnier said: "Given the rather volatile British political situation, I recommend that we remain very united and clear about our objectives and principles. Again he is talking through his fat French arse. With Italy and Spain having recently acquired Eurosceptic governments, Poland and hungary already at loggerheads with Brussels, the Social Democrat consensus in Sweden looking shaky and Merkel's fragile coalition in Germany likely to fall at the first sign of crisis, it is the EU that is in a volatile state politically.
